Thanks to Mike Phillips and the AGO community!

Every year I enter an All-Chevy Show at a local dealership, hosted by the Steeltown Corvette Club, the club founded by the legendary Don Yenko.

I enter my '87 El Camino, an unrestored survivor. Still wearing the original lacquer paint, it's a billboard for paint defects, including crazing, lacquer checking, fading and over 100k miles of wear, (but NO swirls!).

I stumbled upon this site 10 years ago looking for alternative ways to restore my sorry paint besides grinding with a wool pad on a rotary with "rocks in a bottle".

Mike's M07 process tutorial was nothing short of a game-changer and I've been doing variations of the process every year since.

This year, I took another trophy in the stock truck class, finishing ahead of many other trucks with full repaints, second only to a '51 Chevy Truck that was a pro-built, ground-up resto-mod, sporting a custom root beer paint job.

Every other candidate in my class had modern repaints, but none had the gloss of my old girl, even with its sorry-a** paint, thanks to the knowledge gained of products and processes here.

Once again, a sincere thanks to the AGO community for the free exchange of knowledge, with a special shout-out to Mike Phillips for his comprehensive tutorials.

    Bill
