My BMW sits for long periods and the charger was a necessity. Changing batteries in newer cars is a painful experience. The BMW battery is in the trunk and the space was tight. Moving a 60 lb brick around in a tight space can smash a lot of fingers.
I changed mine last year to start fresh after buying in November. I didnt have to code it because it was the same spec but registered it with tool32. Checked with INPA and all good.
Anyway just got the CTEK MXS 5.0 last week. Still haven't disconnected the Battery Tender Power plus 3 amp that is working just fine.

I was able to pickup a 4.3 for $57 new this week. Maybe discounted because everyone is now buying the 5.0? I think it will do what I need from it.

Use the Battery Tender for my Viper, which can sit for weeks/months at a time in my unheated garage. Plug it in, and forget it. Flashes green as it's bring up the charge then solid green.
