When it pays to have your significant other be a "car person"

Ha! I'm not a car guy. I don't drive in the dirt because I don't want all that dust fouling up the vents and everything in the engine compartment. I usually park in places that require excessive (parking a little farther out in a parking lot is not excessive) walking because I want to pay less(or nothing) for parking.

I have a funny story in those lines too. The other day my nephew (who is 4 years old) was amazed to see a Porsche on the road while it was raining. We asked why. He said "because every time it's raining my dad uses my mom's car, I thought Porsches couldn't go out when it rains". My brother drives a Macan Turbo and his wife has a Mazda CX-5.

People never want me to drive them places because I park further away. Not even an unreasonable distance.

My buddy was bitching about me parking further away once, and on the way out from the mall I asked him to point to a parking row he'd prefer me to park in. So he did. I pulled out my phone, started a stopwatch, and then we walked to my car.

It took 27 seconds to get to my car. Less than half a minute is what people complain about, lol.

That’s just lazy. Luckily no one has ever complained about me parking a little farther away. I’d tell them to drive from now on.

Your husband is our kind of guy Monica. My wife was not necessarily a car person but she has come over to our side. She appreciates a pristine vehicle (hers gets done first of course) and she realizes that I do it for her. She deserves to drive a beautiful vehicle. She now enjoys attending car shows, Barrett-Jackson auctions and admiring other well cared for vehicles. The only complaint she has is that she is not allowed to drive her car on the weekends. Once the car is detailed, it goes in the garage and it won't be moved until Monday morning. She considers her car under "house arrest".

,,I never heard put that way,,funny lol!,,,my wifes truck is another story all in itself,,it makes my beater look clean but considering she works on a farm it's not surprising,,I like living here for the solitude but I absolutely hate what it does to my cars

If I tried to tell my wife she's couldn't drive her car I'd running for cover. We're both pretty strong personalities and both dislike feeling restricted by the other one. Maybe I'd just get the "don't tell me what to do" look. More likely there would be a strong verbal response with an f-bomb thrown in for good measure.

And I really need a beater truck. My neighbors would seeing it so long as they could borrow it. It's incredibly convenient when you need a load of gravel, or lumber, or whatever else.
