    Re: Lower Back Pain

Take care of your pain first, see a doctor and possibly a physical therapist. Learn stretching, core strengthening and keep at it every day. Then address your seat cushion/support issue. I’d start with the cheapest solution, a seat cushion, but a slim one as I’m 5’11” and a thick cushion would cause a lack of head room.

I went from a Honda S2000 to an Infiniti 6 speed manual G35 and had lower back pain *and* the seat belt kept digging into my shoulder/neck. Then went to a 2004 Acura TL-S 6 speed manual and all was well again! So the most expensive solution fixed my problems

    Let us know what works.

Find a good chiropractor that also has a massage therapist on staff. Go weekly for chiro and schedule a massage at least once a month. You'll be thanking me later.

    Sell the car.

The number one thing I take from your post is you have never had a bad back injury. Because, if you had, you would not let anything that causes you back problems, stay in your life if you could change it.

Don't wait to understand what I'm talking about. Just get rid of the vehicle.

My wife had the same problem after we purchased her Highlander some 10 years ago. Getting up and in she would have to scootch, which spun her hips and back. Combined with a congenital hip defect she visited the chiropractor a number of times.

I drive for a Ford dealer. This means making swaps. Sometimes 9+ hours of driving a day.

I picked up a top of the line King Ranch F-150 from northern Vermont last month. Air conditioned, power lumbar, massaging seats and all.

Great features, but even with all that, sitting in that seat for almost 5 hours was starting to get uncomfortable.

    Just my two cents.........
I used to own a 96 Explorer XLT V8, not many V8s, but the seats were the best seats ever.

I drove 30k miles+ a year for work using Honda Accords..... I used lumbar supports but it was only a half a bandaid. In 1995 I switched to minivans and their upright seating and a lumbar supports fixed me.

That doesnt surprise me. I call my Accord coupe's ride quality "mushy" I've never taken it on really long rides due to this. I drive it locally only basically as a grocery getter
