    4th of July Weekend = July 7th and 8th

    4th of July Weekend = July 7th and 8th

This year, the 4th of July falls on a Wednesday. That's right in the middle of the week. A LOT of people schedule family get-togethers and events for all holiday weekends including celebrating the 4th of July.

So the question is.... which weekend would be the weekend to celebrate the 4th of July?

The weekend before the 4th would be the weekend of June as in Saturday, June 30th and Sunday, July 1st so these dates don't really gel. Besides this, most anyone that is going to get the official holiday off work and that also wants to take some vacation time off to coincide with the date of the 4th of July would then take Thursday, July 5th off and Friday, July 6th off to also then coincide with the weekend of Saturday, July 7th and Sunday, July 8th. Thus taking 2 days off work would give you 5 vacation days.

The reason I'm posting this is not so I can take some vacation time and plan it well but to schedule more upcoming roadshow detailing classes because from experience, it's a really bad idea to schedule the dates for a weekend class during the same time a lot of people will be attending family functions or other celebration type events that coincide with traditional American holidays.

    Make sense?

So as I work on scheduling events, I had to figure out what weekend is going to be celebrated as the 4th of July weekend and thus not schedule a class that weekend.

So in case you we're wondering like me... 4th of July weekend will be the weekend of Saturday, July 7th and Sunday, July 8th.

Just as Skynet. Errr... I mean Google.

    You're really confusing me, Mike.

I'm just going to take the whole month off now.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.
