What a cool experience to see.

Reminds me of when the Space Shuttle was being retired and it flew into LAX. I took a motorcycle ride down there, about 45 minutes from my place, to see it... It made a couple fly-by's before landing and I was able to get photos of each from different vantage points.

Cars & coffee this morning until it started to rain, then everyone bolted. Did pickup some Griot's heavy duty wheel cleaner to try out.

Treated the Camaro to some Royal Purple.

Full Synthetic 5w30 for the motor and RP Syncromax for the 6 speed Tremec.



Also got the smoked OEM brake light and rear reflectors to go with my Diode Dynamic side markers

My 2 dirt cheap engines torn down.
Engine 1, green one is OK. 2 bolts stuck in block.
Original parts, but crank has been machined.





Engine 2 is also OK. Just 1 bolt stuck in block. This was all original (OE bearings). One bolt was seized in the timing cover. About 2 hours to get it to turn and unscrew from the block, but it's still stuck in the timing cover. I can turn the bolt with some vice grips, but it's not coming out yet. I keep adding penetrating oil each day and will work it out eventually.





One will be full garage rebuild for learning and short term usage and the other will be properly machined at a shop.

More progress last weekend.
Pistons/rods cleaned of carbon buildup.
Hopefully this weekend I can either hone cylinders or polish the crank (or both.....haha).
