I would have never thought the Chevy trucks from the 80's would be cool again. It is fun to see trucks like Mike's 87 getting all the attention. I'll have to see when the show is replayed on Velocity.

Both Lou and Jared are cool cats and they did a great job of fabricating the custom mounts to install the Chevy Turbo 400 mated to the Dodge NP203 Transfercase. The stock components are the 700R4 and the NP208 and anyone that's owned this type of running gear knows it's weak, especially the transfercase.

Looks like the '73-'87 GM's are getting a lot of interest on TV. Last weekend, Willie and Kevin on Two Guys Garage did an episode on an '86 short bed, as well as Stacy of Gearz doing a 4X4 build. Makes me miss my '79 and '83 shortbeds I had in the 80's and early 90's, especially the '79, which was switched from a sick diesel to a torquey 350 Olds gas motor and turbo 400.

That's awesome Mike! Glad to see that red beast getting the love it deserves. Always liked seeing parked out front of AG headquarters when I would swing by.
