my brother is going to help me through this process and he gave me this link to read as homework. He said to read it 2-3 times, get halogen lights on a stand and painters tape
So this past weekend my brother and I detailed the car. He has been going this on the side for years and taught me his ways. Friday i washed, clayed the tapes and saturday was our polishing day. We started at 7am and didnt finish till 7pm with 2 porter cables. The paint was SHOT under the lights it looked like a car that had 100k miles but it only has 18k miles. After letting the sealant sit overnight I took the car home sunday and my hands and feet hurt today, I feel like an old man.
Here is one pic that he took with his Nikon the car feels like glass and looks very wet.
Welcome to the wonderful world of detailing. Don't worry... the first detailing is always the hardest. After this it's mostly maintenance. I think what used to get me the most was kneeling on the garage floor to do the lower panels. My knees would be really sore the next day. I've learned to use a yoga mat and it's all good now.
