What's in the box? Griot's BOSS G10 Pneumatic Polisher

What's in the box? Griot's BOSS G10 Pneumatic Polisher

    What's in the box?

    Let's take a look!

    Included in the box are,

    1. Griot's BOSS G10 Pneumatic Polisher
    2. 24mm wrench
    3. Owner's manual

    Pictures but not included
5" Griot's Vented Orbital Backing Plate
6" Griot's Vented Orbital Backing Plate

The G10 pneumatic polisher comes equipped with either a 5 or 6 inch vented backing plate (your choice).

The G10 pneumatic polisher has the shape of a traditional pneumatic palm sander except she's a little smaller than average sized palm sanders making it lighter in weight and very easy to hold and grip.

The Paddle Throttle Control lever like most palm sanders is located at the top of the tool. As you grip the tool the palm of you hand depresses the lever bringing the polisher up to the speed set by the throttle.

The owner's manual is well written, comprehensive, detailed and complete. It walks you through how to assemble the tool for use plus recommendations for best performance when correcting, polishing and waxing paint.

    Quick-Connect Air Fitting (not included)
In order to use the G10 pneumatic polisher you'll need to get a 3/8" x 1/4" quick-connect air fitting and using some thread tape attach it to the air inlet. You can pick one of these fittings up plus the thread tape at any hardware store.

    Continued....

    Attaching the backing plate
To attach the backing plate use the included 24mm wrench to hold the spindle secure.

As you can see in this picture, the spindle has to flat side for which to place the wrench.

Remove the rubber nut that protects the threads on the backing plate.

    Compression Washer
Ensure the compression washer is in place before attaching the backing plate to the spindle.

Place the wrench on the spindle...

Align the threaded stud to the threaded bore in the spindle and then tighten till snug.

    Ready to go!
Your BOSS G10 pneumatic polisher is now ready to create a work of art!

Re: What's in the box? Griot's BOSS G10 Pneumatic Polisher

How different is this polisher from the 3M pneumatic palm sander

I found the 3M machine, great for sanding, but ineffective for compounding even 3000 grit scratches

I think between they're threads I posted I addressed both topics you bring up.

I also have an article on using the 3m sander to polish paint as wellcasvan article on the history of polishing paint using DA sanders.

This tools is different - it works.
