The 3401 is still going to be around as it's such a huge work horse in the industry. Not just retailers like us use the 3401 but production shops and and body shops use the 3401.
The new XCE is made for the market of the DIY and the weekend warrior to make using the forced rotation a little easier.
Still these machines will be used by many and when you get the chance to test it out you will see the difference
So, technically, what's the difference? Are we saying since it's lighter, smoother, smaller, yada yada... that it's the better forced-rotation DA now? Do we have an idea of pricing compared to the 3401?

Check your source mark I have been demoing the XCE most of the day and it's 8mm throw while the XFE is the 15 mm free spinning.
Both new polishers look very identical.

Evan THANKS for info on XCE looks like from a hobbyist point the XCE will be on my XMAS list. The 3401 was just alittle to much for me..

How is the free spin DA on curves and in general under pressure ?
Thanks Evan J. for chiming in. Would love to get a hands on side by side of the two machines. Love my Flex but hate how hot it runs and its definitely not as smooth as my g21.

I will say the new XCE runs much cooler than the 3401.
I just saw a video upload of Renny Doyle using the new XCE on Flex's Facebook page. It was about 20 seconds. From what I could see the DA is very quiet compared to the 3401. It looked very easy to use too!! If you say it runs cooler even better!!
I hope I am on Santa's Good List so I can get one!! But again thank you so mch for pointing out the XCE. I am happy to see Flex bring 2 DA's. A free float and a forced rotation. I like the latter and that is on my I am gonna get list!!
Take care!!
