Ok guys, it is perfectly ok to agree to disagree - to each his own, as they say.
What I want to know is this: what kind of surface is XMT 4 ideally designed for? I know I had the wrong impression of it. My spider webbing is a little bit milder than what was in that picture.

Can anyone from AG post a surface of a car or cars that this stuff was intended for use upon? I know as a person who is not a professional that it would really help me.
A friend of mine now wants me to work on her car now after I got a hold of it and started detailing it just some last weekend.
I do not know what XMT 4 is truly designed for, and I admit I know nothing, except when in doubt, ask the experts on the forum. ANd in this case, a visual would be wonderful. WHat looks "BAD" to one of use may not be so bad to another, you know?
    THANK YOU IN ADVANCE, anyone!!

    Being serious right now.
    Liquid sandpaper. Use it on???????
    Thanks for the help!

i agree that your supposed to start with a less aggressive polish first but how are you saving the clearcoat at all? those scratches are going to have to be leveled off one way or another, are you really afraid of the PC tkaing off that much clear? i just dont think that its really an issue in this case. i bet xmt3 would have taken care of it but i cant say for sure if i dont see it in action. i dont see anything wrong with him jumping to xmt4 at all, except i would have probably used another polish before the PWS, looks a tad hazy to me?

Well, on a lighter note, I know for sure there's less aggressive polishes out there to do the job.

In your case, the spider webbing is probably worse than his truck.

Lauren, this would be something XMT #4 is really designed for.

Mercedes "nano" clear coat, swirled to perfection.

This took a rotary and compounding to remove.

IMO that's what XMT #4 is designed for.

Although I would STILL recommend getting out there with a yellow pad, use less product, and polish that webbing out with #3 first.

This stuff has the most cut of any compounding/polishing product AG sells.

To set the record straight. Since some are saying this and that. I wrote the review to give my thoughts on the new XMT4. It not a debate. I am glad some are here that are thankfull for it.It is always best to start out least to most. Like Justin said we walk up on a job, look at the car. And say I use this for this car. A review is made for a certain product, not on why you didn't use this instead.I am sorry I made this review

To achieve excellence, excellence cannot be rushed. Technique is just as important as the product used.
While my approach takes more time, the results are far superior.

I used the XMT 4 on the hood of that rental Suburban, and it worked wonders. Removed some heathly swirls/scratches easily. I did followup with Menzerna 1066F to "jewel" the hood, but it wasnt necessary on the lighter coloring. I would think it would be needed on black however.

Liquid sandpaper is a more than far comparision !!

It is really my fault, I guess. I have one approach, and others have their own. It was best to probably keep my mouth shut.

I am thankful for the review, but I was hoping it would have been used one something more severe, so we can REALLY see its potential. I am not disrespecting you, or anyone, for that matter. Like I said, I probably shouldn't have opened my mouth.

Please Ed, accept my apologies. I was the one who started this anyways. I had no intentions on trying to stir things up.

    Take care bud..

HighEndDetail, outstanding review and awesome work on the truck . How would you compare XMT 4 to OC, #83 or SSR3? Dose it have more bite or about the same? And you didn't say anything about dust. Did you have any?
    Thanks for the review.

    Awesome pic!

I had Meghan ask the AG techs the same thing, and I also asked about how #4 compared to OHC, and #4 STILL comes out ontop. She also said XMT #4 has the highest cutting ability of any polishes or compounds AG sells.

That said, I would reserve this for EXTREME paint defects.
