Good question, Joe. I would like to know too.
I was checking out of Wally world today, and without looking for them, there they were- the miraculous blue balls for $9.14.
I decided better to put it towards my next jar of souveran...
I know, I am going to get chastized for this...

I think you made a wise desicion..But i'll try to keep an open mind.
I wonder if they would better benefit my daughters neutered dog J/K ..

I think they might have some benefit when drying MFs...SCOTT?

Not 100% sure but isn't it the same theory of putting a tennis shoe in the dryer when drying towels? The shoe makes the towels fluffier by adding weight as the dryer spins.

I understand you can get the same effect by putting some tennis balls in the dryer - or raquetballs for that matter. The theory is that these balls (or tennis shoes) keep the towels from sticking to the fins in the dryer drum. In other words, they help keep the towels in the air rather than on the dryer drum. More time in the air, more fluffy when they come out. Plus there's the "poofing" effect of having something smack the towels over and over while dryng. At least, that's what I've heard. Make sense to anyone else?

    Revearl,

Yes, that is the theory I have heard. For me they help some, but not a big deal. They do make some noise particularly if you have a smallish load.

i like the dryer balls because they have those rubber nippels at end of them which i think they help to lossen up the micro fibers. tennis balls dont have them

We've got the Blue Law here in SC, but stores are permitted to open at 1:30pm. Food stores/restaurants are allowed by law to open at regular times and stores that sell food along with retail (i.e. Super Walmart, etc) can open but must rope off all retail so that nobody even enters that area. Myrtle Beach is the only exception I'm aware of and it's my understanding that they're exempt because their primary income derives from tourism.

That is too weird - so what is the reason for this law?
