NEW at Autogeek - Optimum Hyper Compound! Pics inside!

After waiting months for this product to be released, we've finally gotten our hands on it - and you know I had to use it right away.

Fortunately (not sure if that's the right word) my dad's boat was in some serious need of TLC. It's a 2007, 20' Scout and has never been waxed . Hey, I don't have time to take care of them all!

The product was very easy to work with in spray form. I used my Makita 9227 with a wool cutting pad. It cut fast, dust was non-existant, working time was awesome, and best of all it left an awesome finish. Gel coat is pretty hard, and when it gets nasty grimy stains and oxidation, it can be a real pain to work with! This is what a one-step with Optimum Hyper Compound got me....the pictures will tell the story!

You can see how nice it finished in this picture....the residue wasn't even buffed off yet.

Notice how oxidized and stained the gunnels are here. (I was testing out an Edge pad - it worked well but didn't have as much cut as the other 3M pad I started with so I switched back).

    Before/afters:

And a few after shots...finished it off with Collinite 845 Insulator Wax on the smooth gel coat, and Woody Wax on the non-skid. This should get us through the rest of the summer.

Mandy's ready to go fishing! Also got my dad a new stainless prop for his birthday, which should net us a bit more top-end. Can't wait to try it out.

Re: *ROUGH DRAFT* Optimum Hyper Compound

You guys might also remember the 1956 Chevy thread from a little over a month ago. That thread no longer exists, but I still have pictures from it.

The car started out with some nasty swirls/RIDS -

    Taped off

    Damp-sanded

Wiped down, with mystery products on hand (we can finally announce that the Optimum Hyper Compound, Optimum Hyper Polish, and new Optimum buffing pads were under those bags )

After Optimum Hyper Compound and Hyper Polish Spray

    And Fuzion wax

Some more pics with the new wool and foam pads (both are double sided) and the Compound/Polish together in action.

Ive tried it already too and I love it. I don't ever want to go back to tiny sections and dusting again.
