Excellent result with Menzerna FG300
I just wanted to give you my opinion (FWIW) on my recent experience with FG300. My normal go-to for compounding and polish is Menzerna FG400 and Super Finish 3500/3800. I have had great results with them. Yesterday I worked on my buddies 1995 MB E300. He purchased it with only 70K miles on it and the interior and engine was in excellent condition. The exterior looked like crap. In fact I let me buddy know that the previous owner took it to a car wash as the swirls showed where the brushes scratched the paint. My guess the car may have never been detailed ever.
So I let my buddy know that I was going to take care of MOST of the swirls and make the car look good. So when I was in the compounding stage; my FG400 was not correcting very well and it was taking quite a long time to get the results I wanted. So I tried Menzerna FG300. I know it is a very heavy cut compound but was curios to see how would it perform.
It reduced my compounding time quite a bit and removed the heavy swirls with ease. My guess I saved about 1/3rd of the time. No longer did I have to go over the same area at least 2 or 3 times. The FG300 finished everything with a one time pass (normal compounding routine). I know FG300 is a very heavy cut compound and did exactly what is supposed to do. I finished the car off with Super Finish 3500 and the coated the E300 with Gyeon CanCoat.
But Menzerna FG300 is a great product to have in your arsenal.
Just an FYI
BTW, no Pics as I don't know how to download pics from my new cell phone. Have a great day everyne.

Re: Excellent result with Menzerna FG300
Glad to hear you found it so effective. I rarely need more than FG400 (or HCC400 as mine's labeled) however maybe I should pick up a bottle of 300 just in case. Sounds like you found it a time saver and that speaks volumes.
I love Menzerna's products.

What machine and pads were you using with the 400 that it wasn't correcting very well?

I was using My Flex 3401 with Lake Country Orange Hybrid Pads (6"). FG400 was working albeit very slow. This MB had massive swirls from car wash brushes. I had to use FG400 a couple of times (3 dots after priming 2 to 3 times) and I was not getting the results I normally get when correcting with FG400. IMO it was a borderline possible wet sand, however, I was not going to go that route as the car is about 25 years old and probably never had wax or a detail. Sad shape. FG300 did what the FG400 normally does with most of the rides I correct. Either way, FG300 is another option to go with. BUT only if FG400 does not work as I normally see that it does.
