If you're referring to the Stoners, the labeling is a bit confusing. While I'm sure it *can* be used on a coated car, I think the main focus of it is "Coat your car just by washing it".

Yes that is correct. After using the product I mentioned that the wash is not as impressive on a car with a coating on it. I was blown away on a car that had no protection on it. I think the product best suites the average users car.

Same concept. Wash and protection is left behind. The Stoners is a wash that uses polymer based protection that is left behind. The Hydro Blue is using SiO2 based protection that is left behind, but not a wash.
