I hear ya, just looking to avoid the hose during quick touch ups late at night, and winter.

Re: Mckees Tire Coating: Thoughts and compare with Gloss Tire Gel

I had a terrible time getting my off road tires clean enough for tire coating. After 3 or 4 hard scrubbings I still had some brown areas and places that would not take the coating. For the last scrubbing I used a carpet brush on a cordless drill and that got the job done.
For cleaning I just spray the tires with the foam cannon and rinse them off. They looked good for about 3 months and the next application was much easier.
For tires (like mine) that had a lot of tire dressing applied over time I will not go through the hassle again.
I have used both Tuf Shine and McKees with no preference. I do have a lot of McKees that I got on a buy 1 get 1 free sale.

On my wife’s tires where I started the coating, I won’t ever apply dressing again. Do the big cleaning effort once and then coat every 3-4 months as needed.
On my old car I will continue to use up Tire Gel since I have a half gallon left which I don’t want to waste... but going forward I don’t want a big, bulky gallon of gel or dressing when a 16oz bottle of tire coating can last me years.
