    New Car Owner

    Hello Everyone,

I am a new car owner... i had my car for about a year and i don't really know anything on what i should be doing it to maintain it and keeping it awesome for as long as possible. I live in VA moved here last year from NYC.

I have a Mazda3 2012 i wash it when it gets dirty which is not to often. I am assuming i should go and get it detailed but what are they advantages of detailing it and how often should i be doing it and what should i be doing to maintain the interior and exterior. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the geek....oh wait, I can't use that line, sorry Italian Guy, LOL!

Now as far as your car goes, well, here's the basics:

    -rinseless wash (I suggest DuraGloss)
-2 five gallon buckets (Lowes/Home Depot) one with measurements on the side
-2 grit guards (here on AG)
    -microfiber wash mits
-cheap mf towels for the tires and wheels
-large mf drying towel (I like Griot's, available here)
    -measuring cup

The above takes care of your wash needs and I suggest the gallon of DG rinseless wash. There's plenty of how to's on how to use it, very easy and effective way to wash/shine your ride!

As far as maintence goes, well, IMO I would do a good, complete detail coming out of winter and one going into winter. This includes the basics:

    -good wash
    -clay bar
    -polish
    -wax/sealant

Inbetween the above you can always apply another coat of wax/sealant to be on the safe side but regular washes are important. The rinseless wash can also be made into a quick detailer, something you can do after your washes or inbetween washes, whatever you wanna do and/or have time for.

Your at the right place for all your advice, drop PM's if you need anything from anybody and once again welcome aboard!
