    Checking In

Hello, thought I would give this fourm a try to learn some new information...
A little background, I have a PC 7424xp (which I haven't used yet) Megs Ultimate compound, polish, and liquid wax. Ohh, and a Mother's clay kit.

I'm waiting to get my LC pads in the mail, 2 red, 2 white, 1 orange, and 1 green....I'm sure I'll need other colors, but that should get me started. They are the CCS 5.5 ones.

Looking forward to reading your posts...

what are you going to be working on?
I told my wife that a husband is like a fine wine; he gets better with age. The next day, she locked me in the cellar.

    I'm glad you asked....
Here are some pictures of my 2006 Chrysler 300 Limited. I have a tremendous amount of water spots (type II, if that's the proper vernacular), a failrly long scratch below the gas tank, along with some fading. (I think it's from spilt gas eating aways at the paint). And I removed the side molding on both sides and have (as you can see) two parallell lines of dirt, build-up, or whatever its called on my car.

I thought about paying someone do detail my car, but my rational is why spend $200+ for a one time deal, when I can spend that much and do it forever...

Any thoughts on how to tackle these types of tasks??

Simple Green and Brillo pads, Marine! Just kidding! Welcome aboard! I was at Lejeune 98-02. If 07 z-oh-6 is lurking maybe he will drop by to say hello as well, he was in too. Maybe he could show you the ropes? (That's right Mark, I just volunteered you )

If you can catch your finger nail on any of the scratches then they shouldn't be buffed out but other than that, UC on orange followed by UP on white should do nicely.

break off about a third of the mother's claybar and drop it in some hot water for a couple minutes before you start claying. Use lots of the lube in the kit (imo, ONR in distilled works better).

I could, and as a result I scraped with my finger-nail until some of it came off. Then I had an outline of all the scratches left behind, along with some of the debris that didn't come off. I know wasn't smart, but being the Marine I am, I just tried to Man F**@ it!

That's hilarious! I thought maybe I could tackle it with some Brasso and CLP...

I currently reside in Riverside county, but orginally from San Diego; the best city to live in, if you can afford to!
