ETSing from the Military, Engineering degree, and Opening up a Mobile Detailing business
Fellow Car People,
This is my first post. My name is Chris Roop. Currently in the process of setting up a part time mobile detailing business called True Color Detail in Sanford, North Carolina. I'm excited to be joining an industry with people who genuinely love what they do. I have a little over a year before I leave active duty military and attend school in pursuit of a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical engineering. Until I separate, I'm looking to increase my skill level. I have all the equipment that I need, it's not the fanciest, but it works.
Like a lot of start ups, I need to refine my skill before offering certain services and commanding high dollar details. I hope to gain a lot of knowledge on this forum, so thank you in advanced for the advice.
Look forward to the future
Respectively,
Chris

Welcome to AGO! Thank you for your service! You will learn quite a bit from this site. May I suggest getting 1 of Mike Phillips How-to-book, Show Car Detailing. You will learn quite a bit from that. Production Detailing, Show Car Detailing and many more things.
I have his old book, The Art of Detailing. I have read it and let other people read it. It's been so abused the pages are falling out. But I still have it! Get one of his books you will not be disappointed.

I used to go into Summit Racing in Reno, NV and see those books all the time...Should have picked em' up then Never thought I'd be putting myself in the position to detail for a living. Thank you for the pointers
