    1st post here.

    Hi I'm Tim From Ohio.

I'm 59 years young, In the brain at least. Body falling apart, LOL. First post here. Been lurking here for some time now. I'm a Duragloss fan. I drive a 2008 Ford Focus SE Delux. Just ordered #601 and #105 here. Been using a 3 step process that worked out great. But as I get older it gets harder to do.

My normal routine is using Meguiar's #7, DuraGloss 111, Then a top coat of Collinite Liquid Insulator Wax #845. Going to try the #105 instead of the #111.

My car using this 3 step process in 04-SEP-2014

I'm a Firm believer in Meguiar's #7 as the first coat. Really deepens the color on my car.

Welcome! What's the entire process you use? Washing, decontamination, etc.?

    Re: 1st post here.

When I bought the car used there was a lot of paint overspray on the front end. Clay bar wouldn't remove. I wet sanded the hood and fenders with 3000 grit. Buffed with, XPC3, Turtle wax scratch and swirl remover. All by HAND, I have no buffer. went over the car 2 times with Meguiar's #7, Then 1 coat of Duragloss 111, Final Coat of Collinite Liquid Insulator Wax #845. As for washing I just use the blue Dawn dish soap and hot water to strip everything before I start. Been 2 years since I did the 3 step. Will be doing it again this spring.

This when I first bought the car. No waxes yet.

This time I tried something different. Mixed Duragloss 111 and Collinite #845 50/50.

Just waxed. Now I need to fix the plastic trim. photo - Tim Smith photos at pbase.com

This spring I'll do a Dawn wash then Meguiar's #7 and Duragloss #601 and #605 and see how that works.

Oh I have found when doing by hand, Foam applicators work the best. Getting harder to find tho, So I buy the cheap microfiber ones and cut the open to get the foam.

I need to start taking the pictures with the same camera and lens. Noticed they all look different.

You'll like the 105. Not as much "pop" or gloss as 111. In my experience, 105 has a deeper/richer look, especially on Metallic or darker colors. They're both great.
