Re: Detailing 101 Class: Machine Polishing - Saturday July 31st

Great pics and that looked like fun. I hear ya on the afforadability of these things. The Pan is our first brand new one. We opted for the 300hp 6cyl. It was 20 grand cheaper and we really dont need 400hp and AWD. With a trade it was a really good deal. The bimmers are hot little cars and are actually very practical unlike a P-Car. Yes they are fun but not good for carrying anything more than a small suitcase. I would not pick up another 911 and would opt for an Audi or BMW. Now, if money was no object then that Aston Martin would be in my garage! Not in this lifetime. But, great Porsches can be had for under 30k these days.

Any restaurant recommendations for Stuart or general vicinity?
What kind of food? There are a few good places around here, but not many. If you drive south 15 minutes to Jupiter, there are some really nice places there. Guanabana's is a nice outdoor restaurant on the Jupiter River, and Leftover's always has awesome food in a more casual setting. There's always Benihana which is in Sewall's Point a little closer to us.

We will be working on our own cars, correct? We just have to bring it washed and everything(read that somewhere), right?... But what about driving on the turnpike for 2 hours.. will get bugs on car...

I thought we were just working on my car? I have a four hour drive but will just bring along some waterless wash so I can touch her up at the hotel. It's like wearing clean underwear to the doctor...I want the car to be immaculate for a detailing class! I do the same before any dealer servicing. I always think that they will judge me for bringing in a dirty car. We car people have some issues dont we?

Re: Detailing 101 Class: Machine Polishing - Saturday July 31st

I'm coming from Orlando. Who's car is the demonstration and hands-on we are going to be doing? Yours? I thought we bring our own vehicle, clean, and we are shown on our hood or trunk and it's up to us to finish the car.

So if that is true, do we finish our car there with the products provided or at our home with our products and buffer? I just want to make sure I come prepared, knowing what exactly is going on. And so I know what car to bring. If we are working on a personal car I would bring one with swirls, oxidation and imperfections. If not I'd take a different car. Ya know..

Not sure how the class will go, mike will pick his choice

In past classes, ag has rented a car to work on in class.

In my last class, mike hit the lot with his brinkman and picked out a swirled out blue boxster to work on. The owner was gracious enough to let the class use the da's on the car and the hood ended up turning out great.
