How Clean Water Stains Off Of Your Vehicles Headliner

Have you ever experienced a water leak inside your vehicle? Trust me when I say that it is more common than one would think. Water can reek havoc on your car's interior and create nasty stains; especially if the headliner gets soaked.

In this post, I will be showing you my step-by-step procedure on how to remove water stains from your car's headliner. You can watch my in depth video where I will be demonstrating my steps from start to finish.

Everything I use in the video is listed below.

    Things you'll need:

    Meguiar's All Purpose Cleaner

    Meguiar's Microfiber Towels

    Boar's Hair Detail Brushes

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is what water will do to a car's headliner. This is my own vehicle by the way and this is a water stain that has been there for years.

The very first step in getting rid of this stain is to spray it down with some all purpose cleaner. Always remember that you want avoid over saturating the area.

After spraying the spot down, let the APC dwell on the stain for a minute before agitating it with a soft bristle brush.

The last step after agitating the stain is to wipe the area down with a microfiber towel to get rid of the residue and to help dry the area faster.

You may have to repeat the steps a few times if the stain remains.

Here is an after picture of the results.

As you can see from the after pictures, even an older stain can be significantly improved with a few simple steps.

There are a few things to remember when it comes to cleaning headliners and those are:

    - Headliners are delicate and easy to damage.
    - Always use the least aggressive method that can get the job done.
    - Don't ever over saturate a head liner with your cleaning solution.
    - Try to tackle the stains as soon as they appear.

I hope this post and video helps at least one person. If you enjoyed this and learned something, please comment and let me know.

Also, if you have anything you'd like, please let me know in the comments.
