Suggestions for a new compound/finishing polish and pad combo

    Hi guys,

Been researching new products to use for my production detailing, but feeling a bit swamped with info.

Currently I use Chemguys V32 and V36 for my compound/polish, both with an Chemguys orange hex-logic light cutting pad. Not the best quality combo I know, but it gets the job done. I have a Zentool 21-E DA polisher. I've also used Megs Ultimate Compound and Polish in the past with decent results, but the value just isn't there.

I've been looking at Megs D300 as a compound with their MF cutting pads. They seem to be a good compound combo, but a lot of people reporting marring/holograms that will need to be polished out. The D301 seems to not be as popular, but that's the kind of thing I'm looking for.

Any help will be much appreciated!

    Cheers,
    James

Some people will use the d300/microfiber cutting pad to cut and move to M205/foam polishing pad to polish.

I also like Megs Ultimate line, and wish it were available in larger quantities.

Your pads are good though. Made by Buff and Shine.

I would look into the new McKee's 37 line of products from their Compound, Polish, Jeweling Wax, 360 AIO, etc.

There are 2 lines that I feel are at the top right now.

And they are newer to the market witch means they use the latest and greatest abrasive technology.

    McKee's 37 polishes
    Griots garage boss creams

They all have pretty much the same characteristics witch is.

    Long work time
    No dusting
    Easy wipe off
    No fillers

I love products that work long, and finish when I want to finish, that's a big deal, user friendly and you use less product.

We just used the McKee's 37 line on this 1940 Ford and it won BEST PAINT AT THE SHOW

    take a look.

The polishes are the real deal.
