But a lot of times, it's best to only focus on those that actually yield results.

Don’t waste your time on the $5 idea, put your energy in the $100 idea –

What are some examples of your $5 ideas, $50 ideas or $100 ideas? Its a nice article and it would help me (a weekend warrior) to better understand if I can see some examples from your perspective

Here's an example from the article

If you update your Google+, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.. But only
Facebook and Instagram yield significant results, then forget about Google+ and Twitter
Instead of spending time on all social media platforms.. only spend time on the ones that
    actually bring in customers

So if you focus on Twitter.. and you post constantly, you get 500 followers, etc.. but you
never get 1 customer from Twitter, then stop posting on Twitter and focus that time/effort
into something else that will bring in customers

Another example could be spending time researching products vs building a referral program..
out of those 2, which one will bring in more customers/business?.. obviously the referral program,
cause that will actually bring in more customers ($$$$$)

Oh sorry, I read that part in the article and it didn't compute in my head. Your focus was more on marketing ideas, I get it now. Thanks!

I only spend time on Facebook I get a few customers from it. The only thing I spend money on is a few events and shows. 90% of my business is word of mouth and good reviews theses are the two best things. I have no referral program at all and give repeat customers $20 off their next detail or if they bring more than one car. I'm booked out till the first week of September.

The concept is sound but what would be much more helpful would be to give exemples of what really brings in customers vs what doesn't.
