Tips for starting small detailing business

So I am 16 right now and have been detailing family and friends cars for about 2-3 years and I have learned a lot in that time. Over the summer to make some extra money to save up for a car I was thinking of detailing cars in the driveway. If anyone has any tips on things like pricing, what I need, or anything else that would be great. Thanks.

Also I thought about it and will focus more on people with daily drivers because my swirl removal can't compete with that of others.

Since you are doing this for money to buy a car here is what i would do.

Focus on your confidence and people skills.Confidence and people skills are must haves. Print out some basic flyers of some sort using your computer and put them in your neighborhoods front door. Dont put them in mail boxes because thats a federal crime (at least in my area). Have your family members tell their friends and co workers about you and tell them why you are doing this.

People will ask you questions so be prepared. Write down all the questions you think a person could ask you and then write down what you will reply to them.

If you see your neighbors, even the ones you dont ever talk to, let them know what you are doing and why you are doing it. Since you are young they will probably help you out.

    Good luck

Keep in mind that McDonalds makes more money than all the five star restaurants in the world combined x1000.

Moral of the story....98% of car owners couldn't care less about detailers and polish. They just want a clean shiny car and you can do that for $20 safely and have them coming back. A 2B wash plus a megs ultimate quick wax which has some filling ability and goes on sun or rain, hot or cold.
In my day we didn't have the Internet, iPods,iPads, or smart phones....but we had some really bad-azz cars.

Best advice I can give to a 16 year old who wants to start a business.

Go to business school. Start businesses and keep innovating. One of the most important skills any business owner and entrepreneur has is the ability to adapt and learn as they go.

Keep doing what you are doing, hopefully people will notice and ask you to theirs next.
