    First Professional Detail Job

I had my first Professional Detail job this past weekend. Went very smoothly, customer fell in love with their cars again. They just took it to florida with 8 persons, 6 under 13 and 2 adults. Was absolutely the most candy, wrappers, pieces of food, etc mess I've seen. Never ever want kids now after that. However, I charged $400 to fully detail a 2011 Honda Pilot and 2011 Chevy 2500 Crew Cab. It was for a friend, so I took off a little. Took me a total of 15 hours. Let me know what you guys think.

PS- It covered almost all of my expense in products, still needing some nicer pads and cutting, polishing compounds.

You only have 1 picture total or just 1 picture available to post? If 1 picture total, you are doing yourself a serious disservice by not documenting your work. Both from a liability and marketing perspective.

Yea I know. I truly planned on B&A pics however it was too dark when I finished. Plus the person sold it the next day... it had a strong tinge of color loss. I'm pretty proud. I just was wondering if $40/hr for a mobile service with 10 years of maybe a car a month is appropriate. my father use to run a body shop to I know the tricks and how to. There are only 3 other shops in my town which all charge $60-$70/hr but have shops.

Charge what you feel you are worth and what your market will bear. I offer packages for $150, $200 & $250. My lowest rate is 31.25/Hr. I know people first hand who have spent over $100 for interior work only and been absolutely pissed at the poor level of work they have received. If you are top notch and have excellent word of mouth, people will spend more to get your services.

Excellent viewpoint. My highest is $300 for a full fledge job but also have a $30 wash for people just wanting a small job done.
