what air compressor size needed to blow out pads?

Is a 6-gallon pancake compressor enough to be able to blow out buffing pads after being washed?

    A Porter-Cable C2002 shows 2.6 CFM @ 90 psi and 3.7 CFM @ 40 psi.

I have a "big" air compressor at home, but I need a portable one.

I use a 6 gallon Porter Cable compressor and it works good, since it’s small it’ll run more often but it definitely keeps up.

    Same here.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

Would a smaller 1-3 gallon work for this?

As your starting out it’ll work fine, but after awhile you’ll tire of hearing it constantly going. Thats when you’ll upgrade to a bigger one, I just upgraded from my 6 gallon last summer to a 26gal and life is so much better.
