Hi everyone, has anyone here successfully used Fiverr for logo design? If so, can you offer any tips as to how to choose someone to handle it besides the price?

I think Paul (LSNAutoDetailing) has some great experience with this.

Look at the work of prospective designers and decide which one has the most to offer YOUR business in terms of designing something you like, something you think suits your business. A guy that is really good at drawing dragons, for example, might be a great artist, but your design may require something more upscale and less intricate.

Hire a professional, not cut rate hacks who are devaluing the work done by real designers.

It's no different than a scrub detailer doing full details for $25. Everyone would rail on devaluing the work of a professional detailers.

If you pay for a $5 logo, you're going to get a $5 logo.

Hi Paul, it’s my wife (Interior Gal) who is a graphic designer... Despite winning a few addy’s over the years and being part of the team that did the packaging / print media for Terminator 3 and Matrix Reloaded, she’s left the corporate word.

Right now she’s doing mostly freelance corporate logos/design for health and wellness industry, and balancing life as a massage therapist in a doctors office. (And Interior Gal!!!)

I defer to her creativity and her hourly rate...

However there was much thought in my logo. Most logos are the sweeping lines of exotic cars. Mine focuses on a more classic car. The circles around it mean there is some kind of “action” or “motion,” whether it be washing, polishing or activity. Topped off with the little twinkle on the front fender.

One thing you always want to remember is your logo should be able to go on web, print, t-shirts, etc. Simple colors tend to be best to keep the brand consistent throughout the media spectrum.

Thanks for the advice guys. Brand identity is what I’m trying to build. Once I have some designs to mull over, I’ll post them up. I already have a couple simple but striking colors in mind that are going to be prevalent in all my business cards, t shirts, email, Ad’s etc.
