I Have Finally Seen it All. ..... hopefully....
I wouldn't even know what category to put this in so here goes.....
I had a twin interior/exterior yesterday. 2 SUV's . Upon arriving saw that the one was in pretty severe shape on the inside due to what I can only assume was food and coffee drippings everywhere and a ridiculous amount of dog hair.
I banged out the first one in a timely manner and got to work on #2 only to find that under the second row of seats was where they stored the deceased abominable snowman or at least that is what it looked like.
Upon witnessing this, I have the customer step outside and explain the situation. Customer gives the go ahead and away I go. After having to clean out my vac a couple of times, I was left with a 2 gallon bucket of sopping wet dog hair, french fries, goldfish crackers, cheerios and whatever other junk was in the carpets and under the seat.
As I'm working on the exterior, the customer comes over and sees the bucket of carpet soup and says "oooo a quarter !" and jams their hand in the bucket and starts looking for more money. "is this okay if I go through this?" um...... "have at it. whatever is in there is yours anyway".....
now, I know it's nice to find some surprise cash laying around the car, but for crying out loud, you couldn't pay me to stick my hand in there.....
The customer at one point asked me (before this took place) what was the worst job that I had gotten.
Before this, it was a very small vomit job...guess what...you are now the champion.

Haha. That's disgusting. Hopefully he won't use the coins he found to tip you at the end of the job.

I never can understand how people can drive around in filth.
Makes me wonder about their house and/or hygiene.

I fix cars for a living, so I sit in a lot of different cars wondering the saaaaaame thing. And that's why half the time gloves are to keep my hands from getting dirty underhood/etc, and half the time they're for not touching other people's funk...

This is why I tell people I don't do interiors... I refuse to touch their nastiness.

I have done some super nasty interiors over the years,,some more disgusting than others for sure.
I can''t work with someone over my shoulder like that...at all.
here is one I turned away recently, besides the qbvious trash and nastiness the smell was unbearable and I had to drive it around the building with my head out the window.
to add thats a 2015 Equinox w/23,000 miles (I think, don't remeber the mileage for sure)

Dude, that is beyond disgusting. That's a health hazard.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

Re: I Have Finally Seen it All. ..... hopefully....
I had one yesterday, last job of the day, 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I'm thinking piece of cake, in and out. It looked like 3 dogs exploded inside the car. The lady claimed she had taken a 3 day cross country trip with them. I swear I almost asked her if she was previously homeless because it looked like her and the dogs had lived in the Jeep for six months. It was as close as I've ever come to refusing a job. Because my first job also had scope creep and I just feel like dealing with it. I pushed through. She was super stoked when it was done.
