    2016 Mercedes-Benz C300 B-Pillar: HOW DO I???

I currently have Rupes Yellow pads Meguiar’s MF cutting pad

    M100
    M205

Do I have what it takes to polish these scratches on the B-pillar?

Is this doable for this vehicle?

    Also,

Also, I don’t know if this matters but, I read somewhere on this forum about the do’s and dont’s on Mercedes paint.

And I was told I can find the paint code on this. What am I looking for first of all?

And second, with the material I have, can I safely polish out this vehicles paint.

I don’t know if this makes sense. Again, I’m asking this based on something I read about Mercedes paint and I want to play it safe.

    Thanks.

The paint code is the 040 number on the black tag. If there was a C in front of it that would indicate factory Ceramic clear which is pretty hard. But don't think they do it anymore. I check all the Mercedes for it regardless.

As for polishing those pillars I would use m100 microfiber cutting pads followed by m205 on a yellow pad and if needed a soft finish pad. I typically use my Adams swirl killer mini 3in 12mm throw for areas like this.

Exactly what Justin said. Here is the article he's referring to:
    Ceramiclear Paints - Be Careful

Those B-Pillers will polish up really nice. You may not even need 100... Start w/ 200 first. If you're doing the entire vehicle with 100, then yes, hit those... but do them last... or at the last cycle of your pad prior to changing out. The pads can hit the rubber and turn black really quick. They'll clean up, but you don't want to go back over paint with them after.

best way is to wrap them in ppf , self healing this days saves a lot of headache.
can be polished instead? yes , but are plastic and the clear on them is thinner than on the paint, plus you need a smaller pad , that usually will generate more heat ....
i may be wrong , but i seen older german cars with pillars faded or clear coat failure on pillars....
