Laminate would be extra $5 to cover gas for Ms. Pearl picking it up from staples lmao.

    The costs are as follow:

Becoming a member is 110$ per year. Gives you access to a bunch of online training and rebates on conferences.
Online certificaion is done through 10 exams. Each exam is 25$ or you can pay for all 10 as a bundle and pay 200$. Don't see why you would not do that since you need to complete all 10 with 80% or more to get certified.
Then there is the skill validation test that is done in person. That is 200$ too.

When you get certified you receive patches (not sure how many) and a certificate by mail. I think you also get some promotional banners. And you get the right to add CD (certified detailler) after your name.

When you complete the skill validation test, you get use SV (Skill validated) after your name.

When you are SV you can apply to become a trainer for the IDA. I did not look into it so I am not sure what it gives you.

You can check the IDA's website for more info:Home

You can also add the IDA's logo on your website when you are a member. And when you get certified you are listed in the IDA's searchable database available to everyone.

If that’s the case I can make up my own and stick it on the wall lol. $120 just to be spammed lol. If I say hey I’m apart of the BBB or AAA then sure it would work because you know who they are. If I say I’m with the IDA most ppl would be like wth is the IDA. Lol I mean that’s just me

You can always explain to them what it is and give them a link to the IDA's website.

    Re: IDA certification

All jokes aside, I have no idea if this is gonna be helpful or not.

The way I look at it, it's 500$ for marketing. It may or may not give me jobs. But if it gives me 1 paint correction job in the first year, it has paid for itself. Plus I think having a validation from an international organisation makes you look more professional, and our industry is all about appearance. So every little bit helps.

I am looking forward to see how good the online training is gonna be. I don't think I will be going to any conferences since they are all in the USA and I don't even have a passport And I am not gonna pay 200$ to get a passport then an other 1000$ to fly to Florida and pay hotels for 3 days for training (sorry)
