Anyone ever try the detail while you .... angle??

Just curious if anyone has tried taking the detail your car while you (shop, travel, or whatever will have someone gone for a few hours to a few days). I just saw a lease space open up in the airport area where i live (the airport is only 5-7min from the middle of town so spot is decent even without any airport traffic). But it did get me thinking of maybe an extra stream of customers may be detail and store your car while you travel or we pick up your car from the parking lot the day before you get back and have it clean when you arrive home. Let me know if you have tried anything similar or just what you think of the idea.

To much liability. Example, you pick up their car a day before they come home from vacation, but just before you pick up their car from the airport, someone hits their bumper and causes some minor damage. Now your responsible because you can't prove that you didn't do it.

If your space was large enough, you could meet them at the departure terminal at the airport, keep their car and detail it while they were gone, then take it right to them at the arrival terminal when they returned. Curb to curb service. Detailing and parking in one package.

I do a lot of details on clients cars while they travel, but they drop them off at my place and Uber to the airport.

If you could offer parking and a lift to the airport, I think that would GO! Parking + detail for one price. I think that's a winner.

I like the idea, especially since it's close to town.

i too like the idea just would have to get a better look at the shop size and run numbers on how many cars can fit in while leaving a workable space and see if that would be enough to justify the lease price compared to the others i am considering. Never thought about the liability of picking the car up part way through the trip. Glad that was brought up. I suppose all that is left now is researching what storage cost is and how much more it would be worth to people the have their cars stored inside and detailed while they are away already.

thanks, any further ideas are appreciated.
