Re: How to dilute
Got that email the other day as well. Beat me to posting it!
I'm printing it and putting above my laundry sink (where I mix/dilute).
Here's the cropped pic I printed for anyone else who wants it.

Re: How to dilute
That's pretty handy to have around the mud sink.
But I'd have to say, when you're talking about 128:1, that doesn't mean 127:1 (which it has in the gallon and 5 gallon columns). Which is close enough for government work (as they say). Then again, it does say "approximate".
Here's an online tool that's great for calculating alcohol solution to make panel wipe. Home Distillation of Alcohol (Homemade Alcohol to Drink)
For instance, to do 156:1 D114 with a 28% solution of 91% alcohol in a 32 ounce bottle. First you would manually figure 32/156=.2051 ounce of D114. So basically you'd fill with distilled water, 31.8 ounces, then top it off with D114 (.2051 ounces).
Then it's just doing the math in the second calculator on the page. There are 3 drop down boxes that you'll fix to read "US fl oz". So you'd put 32 in the first box, 28 in the second (for 28% dilution once it's all mixed), 91 in the third (or whatever your bottle strength came in. Click "Calculate" and it'll read:
9.846 ounces of Alcohol
22.154 ounces of Water
Want to do 20% blend, just change the middle box on the top line, click "Calculate" again and you'll get:
7.033 ounces of Alcohol
24.967 ounces of Water
Sure, there's a formula out there, but when I ran across this site a few years ago I bookmarked that one in my phone. Whether at home or on the road, using 70% or 91%, small spray bottles or large, it just makes it so darned easy.

Very handy! Even better because it uses REAL (SI) measures!
