The plastic has a lot of oxidation.

Stop by an auto parts store and pick up some plastic polish. Put it on a foam pad and go to town- after you've done a test spot, that is.

Plast-x is available at some larger automotive stores and WalMart

What "type" of plastic is it?
What paint polishes do you have on hand?

If there's a motorcycle shop nearby,
see if they carry Novus plastic polish.

Re: Plastic window soft top convertible - how to make clear

Alright. No luck with the before and after pics.

The customer was supportive and I got confused off the bat with what he wanted. I ended up doing a wash, Clay, D151 , and CAR PRO reload on top.

Wheels were cleaned with iron x and Meg's wheel and tire cleaner. (Ran out of my gallon of Sonax).

I polished the windows with..... A little trick I picked up.....Meg's m105. Works great on glass with a microfiber pad

Exhaust tips were cleaned with p21s polishing soap and some very fine steel wool.

Everything looked great. I'm still frustrated about the back window.

If you look in this picture you can see what kind of plastic window I was working with ...........

As you can see the plastic rear window is extremely oxidized. Every time I tried the plastic x on a polishing lad the window would cave in. Making it nearly impossible for the lad to do its job.

I'm going back to the house in a week to apply nanolex ultra window protectant Plastic window soft top convertible - how to make clear

    Better them opti-glass IMO.
