I don't think it was a matter of marketing at all. Collinite has been around since 1936 and tends to stay well away from gimmicky marketing. Just look at the bottles!

When you look at their website and go under their "industrial" tab, you'll see 845 still listed in gallon jugs for application on glass and ceramic electrical conductors. I'd bet sometime over the last 80 years or so, somebody figured out that the stuff works just as well on their car as it did the conductors they were maintaining on a power pole somewhere...and the rest is history.

Love this write up! I just got a bottle of 845 yesterday for my birthday. It was already melted I guess from sitting in the box in 80 degree weather all afternoon.

I'm just going to put a flip cap on the top. Will this stuff harden up again? If so, just melt it down I'm guessing?

Make sure you shake it up well. Probably will not set up till it gets cold, if so just put in a pan of hot water and shake well.

The only presentation of Collinite is still 16oz?

While not that big of a bottle, you use so little it lasts a very long time.

I just put the bottle outside in the warm sun while I wash the car. It's all warm and ready to go after that. Shake it up and apply.

Noticed today that the roof of my truck is still beading after 6 months.

Unfortunately, my Colonite 845 has been in my shed for about 2 years. Does it "go bad" or can I just warm it up and keep on truckin?

Is it really thick ?. If so warm it up and in either case shake the he** out of it to mix it up. If it sat for 5+ years I might question it.
