    Windshield water repellent

Living in Florida now and we get some downpours. I am looking for a good windshield water repellent. Rain X just leaves smears. I can clean with some nano shock prior to application or if you all have a better idea

    Re: Windshield water repellent

See below thread going on right now. I personally like PBL Glass Coating but there’s a lot of good, non-oily coating products that shouldn’t have any issues in Florida heat. Even Mothers CMX Spray I hear works very well on glass. Regardless what you use, deep clean/Clay/polishing the windshield would be beneficial if it’s grimy.

    What's better than Rain-X?

With the current sale going on, get yourself the Pinnacle glass twins. I have, use and like both products.

Griots glass sealant is a solid option. Cheap, extremely easy to apply and solid durability.

And yeah, Griot's makes great products. They test them 6 ways to Sunday before they launch them, so by the time they are available to be purchased, you know they are solid.

    Re: Windshield water repellent

I use McKee's 37 Glass Coating and then once cured, I top it with something like Beadmaker to help give it a super slick layer. Doesn't impact the performance at all but does really help the blades glide over the glass. I use it as my go-to detail spray thus rarely have issues. I'm going to give both my vehicles a heavy cleaning here soon so I'll likely re-do them both glass wise.

Another product I find that works great is Rust-Oleum's Never Wet for Glass. It's really my go-to for cars I detail. Works outstanding as well.

If you are looking for super easy look into Duraglass Rain Repel. It's a glass cleaner with a rain repellent. I was very surprised at the ease of application (no streaking) and the durability.
