How did you come to that conclusion?

With MF pads, you're getting a lot more polishing action with each fiber "wiggling" around. For soft paint, I just feel foam is a better option to finish. Hard paint is a different story.

Valid point. I think I'll give the D302 a shot, with a finishing pad though.

Like I said before, I've had problems (very rarely) with the finishing pad leaving a weird, almost hologram-like pattern on soft black paint. I guess, technically it would just be micro marring. It's very annoying, because is almost not detectable until you pull out into direct sunlight.

I'm skeptical, as you are, but I'm really hoping this d302 is a fix. Worst case scenario is that I have to finish with foam and M205, which really isn't even a worst case scenario haha.

To be honest, overall, I'm more curious about the xtra cut pads. I think they will be great for hoods, roofs, deck lids...big open areas.

    This.

Seem to be the areas where the majority would notice first. I always put that extra effort to get the rids out in these areas (Not that I don't for the rest of the vehicle). Seems like that "XTRA CUT" would help on most situations.

I'm also with Mark, foam finishing for soft paints is win.

Re: New Meguiar's DA Microfiber Correction System Video

Maybe it's just me, but during SEMA when 302 was released, my first thought.... "Why didn't they just leave 301 empty earlier? Jumping from 300 to 'compound', to 302 to 'polish', then BACK to 301 to 'finish/wax' isn't exactly intuitive." But then again, that's just me!

But yeah, I'll be ordering my bottle of 302 as soon as it's available as well.

Don't know though about the cutting pads. Can't imagine needing more cut than the existing pads. Except perhaps on a big open and really flat surface like a semi-truck or something.

This is a random thought, but I think the next evolution in DA cutting pads will be something thick like a foam pad but with the cutting ability of these thin xtra cut pads.

Thick pads contour around curves better. I guess the problem is that you then have more rotational mass and will need more power to get the pad moving. . .I need sleep haha

Joe, that was 1 year ago. You had D302 1 year ago?
