Re: Brand Yourself, Brand your Forum Nickname and Brand your Business Name
Awesome article, Mike! This is really useful info. IMO, branding, being part of marketing essentially, is one of the most important aspects of a business and can sometimes be the determiner of success.

Thank you....
I've never understood the nickname craze on forums....
I find I personally remember people better when I can associate a real name with their posts.

I agree with all the above.
If it wasn't for Mike sharing the importance of this I think I a lot of detailers, including myself, would have headed down the wrong path to starting our businesses.
Like the TED talk by Simon Sinek states, people make a biological decision when deciding on a purchase, the why factor. Part of that why factor involves the human relationship/connection that a business creates with customers before a sale is even made.
Marketing yourself first is what has made so many businesses successful.
BTW TigerWash, how is Red Stick these days? BR and Livingston Parish are my old stomping grounds. Never thought as a kid that I would miss it but, the longer I spend away from there the more I miss it.
Next time I am in town I will give you a shout.

I've seen a lot of people over the years change for fuzzybunny77 to either their real name or their business name for a forum name.
Sure seems like a no-brainer to me... especially if you're in this for the long run...

If a mod sees this, I'd like my name changed to J.Williams@perpetualradiance if it's not too long lol. If it is, J.Williams@PRD would be great.

I tried to start my account here as Mr. Slick. It said I couldn't do that (for some reason) so I put Slick. it accepted but put Slick01. Who do I contact it to make it Mr. Slick? my business name is Mr. Slick's Detailing Service.

Busy prepping new product reviews for launch at SEMA today and after SEMA going to the Velocity Dinner, if a Mod doesn't get to this I'll do it when I get a chance.
