I’ve been a resident in South Florida for about 25 years, and Detailing for about 20… Down here, the biggest culprit for clearcoat failure is Honda. You can almost be guaranteed any civic or accord that is kept outside 24/7 in the sun will have clearcoat failure around the edges of the trunk, roof and hood within eight years or so… It is rampant down here.

The thought of my Accord getting such clear coat failure horrifies me. That's why I always garage it and religiously apply a LSP

My 2000 Acura TL had bad clear coat damage in TN after about 10-11 years. I had it repainted and it looked brand new but I agree, I saw a lot of early 2000 TLs and Accords with clear coat failure around the roof and trunk.
