How to remove wax from plastic/vinyl bumpers?

I am a TOTAL amateur at car detailing mainly because as a father of 2, I rarely have the time.

Anyway, today is my birthday and all I wanted to do was become one with my car !!!

The wife complied and so I did a thorough wash and applied a wax and everything was perfect ... until I saw a LOT of places where I went too heavy with the wax and it got on my bumpers. It is a black car and now the bumpers have a lot of white on them.

How do I clean them ?

Tooth brush and some wax remover or IPA.

I have read here on AGO that some guys use peanut butter, but I cannot confirm that this works.

    BLACKFIRE Wax Remover
I haven't personally used this. I have used a white Pentel block eraser to scrub it off.

Can't personally vouch for the Blackfire wax remover, but I can say the M37 wax remover works.

Key to any of these products is to use a brush to work the product down in to the pores of the plastic as that's where the wax collects.

Great product to do so. I did a review on it and it is floating around the forum.

I've used peanut butter and it worked great. I once had a car with textured black trim with some wax stains on it from places where I was a little sloppy. After trying APC and some other products, peanut butter was the only thing that worked. I put a very small amount on an old tooth brush and then worked at the area until it was gone. I think it's the oils in the peanut butter than loosen the dried wax and make it easier to remove.

I'd make a suggestion to put the wax away and use a more modern product that doesn't leave white residue. Never have to worry about the issue again.

Please remember that there are still some of us that use the less modern products..............
