    The Professional Detailer's Hippocratic Oath

    The Professional Detailer's Hippocratic Oath

Take from the Greek physician Hippocrates, from his work called Of the Epidemics,

    first, do no harm

I present, the Professional Detailer's Hippocratic Oath

    First, do no harm

The idea being, - as a professional detailer and in keeping with the Professional Detailer's Oath, to first do no harm means to always,

Use the least aggressive process to get the job done

And when surface conditions dictate that you must use a more aggressive process and/or product, (which in context could be positioned as to be doing harm), it is with the noble intention of the bigger picture, which is to remedy or repair the surface.

Re: The Professional Detailer's Hippocratic Oath

Ok I like this, Mike being new where can I find a general idea list of what pads/compounds/polishes go from least to most aggressive?

    For example:
Compounds least aggressive to most aggressive
Pads least aggressive to least aggressive
Polish liquids least aggressive-if even aggressive?

I know microfiber pads are more aggressive
How to distinguish and tell what to use?

    Hope my post makes sense.
My goal in life is to love God, family and myself. To love others and treat others right.

    IMO:
    •“The Hippocratic Oath”:
-Good oath to not only detail by, but also
    one to live Life by.

    On a personal basis:
•Regardless the situation, I tend to always
expand the “Hippocratic Oath” to its fullest
    measure; that is to say:

-The trick is to do no harm, while winding
up having done (at the least) some good.

    Quote:
”The physician must be able to tell
the antecedents, know the present, and
    foretell the future—must mediate these
things, and have two special objects
    in view
    with regard to disease, namely,
to do good; or to do no harm.”

    Just to chime in,

All great comments guys. I'm hoping to get the "right" picture for the placeholder spot above.

And then expand on the oath portion.

Can't wait to see it! Maybe a guy doing a test spot would be a good one. A test spot on a hood that looks like a shield. Because the shield stands for the protection we install on their investment. Or a side by side photo of a guy doing a test spot then gently buffing a wax or coating off with a premium quality microfiber towel and looking extremely focused. I appreciate your questions, I don't believe there is any type of "general list" for anything like you want that is ALSO regularly updated to stay current with all the new technology constantly being introduced.

This is why I for one - don't ever try to be the author of such lists or charts or diagrams, etc.

Also - If you like, feel free to copy and paste what you wrote and create your own dedicated thread for this topic instead of tagging it onto this topic.

It's not that it's not related, it's just this isn't the best way to get that kind of info WHEN a stand-alone, dedicated thread with a great title will be more effective in the short run and in the long run.

    Make sense?
