This virus is very contagious. Today in the news it was reported the virus can live for 17 days on a surface. It's airborne at least in close proximity.

I read this as well. Not good news. :/

On the TV the team of doctors still are saying 3-4 days on hard surfaces. With that statement however many of the children's playground equipment is now off-limits in the Houston/Harris County area parks. Same thing for the outdoor benches, and adult workout stations.

Then to make it worse, many in NYC have left the city for Florida, surrounding states, and even Long Island. They have been instructed to sit tight for 14-days and do not mix with others.

Thankfully, I was able to stand in line this AM and get some food for a few more days.

Not anyone's idea of how to bring in springtime in the 'USA!

Funny thing is, there is NO food or food supply shortages.

The lines are from the uninformed, panicking masses.

Stores are open. Go buy what you need when you need it. (Just like always). Just be smart about about it.

Wash your hands before and after. Stay away from others. If need be, wear a mask/gloves.

Hoarding items makes life that much worse for everyone.

THINK of others, and not just yourself.

Lack of mass testing and use of isolation is going to be our undoing I am afraid. Lockdowns of cities and states are merely supplemental to the "contain and control" strategy (of testing and isolating the infected) that is needed in order to address a viral pandemic.

This virus is very contagious. Today in the news it was reported the virus can live for 17 days on a surface.
This is based on the fact they found traces of the virus in cabins on the Diamond Princess cruise ship. The rooms had not been disinfected in 17 days, and when they did testing, they found remedial viral remains of SARS-COV-2, not SARS-COV-2 itself.

It's airborne at least in close proximity.

That's the one thing we know with absolute certainty !

It's the airborne part that really worries me. Depending on which doctor or health official you listen to, the virus can live on a hard surface anywhere from 9-17 days. At any rate that is a LONG time, a lot longer than the flu we commonly deal with. And I keep hearing conflicting reports on the primary means of transmission. Is it mostly airborne, or from touching contaminated surfaces? Or is it both equally?

Re: How to avoid germs - Gas Station

Just posted this in another thread but wanted to share it here as I think there is hope for this treatment....

We, as in America and the World will get through this, there's simply going to be a pause until Science figures out how to address it and from watching the news, they are getting closer.

On Wednesday, March 25th, The below medicine combinations were supposed to start undergoing testing in New York?

    1: Chloroquine (hydroxychloroquine/Plaquenil)

    2: Zithromax (generic name azithromycin)

    3: Zinc sulfate

This is based upon the success Didier Raoult, a French virologist has had using this combination to treat the virus.

So far no word about the testing?

I for one will be watching for news updates on this treatment combo and hope it proves to be at least our first line of attack against this virus moving forward. Then with time, there will be more discoveries to help us either eliminate it as a risk or at least have a remedy for anyone that catches it.
