PBL Tire Clear Coat - 1 application

PBL Tire Clear Coat - 1 application

These tires have never had a tire dressing or tire shine applied to them, thus the fit my definition of tires I will coat.

I machine scrubbed them 3 times. After 3 machine scrubbings the tire cleaner foamed white. That’s what I want to see to show me the tires are clean and free from any browning or dressing.

Then I applied one application of the PBL Tire Clear Coat.

    Before

    After

I use to use Tuf Shine but to get these results I would apply 5 coats and speed dry each application using a MetroVac SideKick.

    This is one and done.

I prefer to use this over a dressing if and when I can.

Re: PBL Tire Clear Coat - 1 application

I just did 3 coats on my tires last week. I usually use the Mckees coating but gave this a try this time. I machine polished the tires for the first time to. Loved it, got to be careful with the sling if you go to fast though.

I don't want to give my opinion yet on the coating compared to Mckees but I'm def in the process of comparing them. One thing I would like to add for the readers is if you have really dirty tires and have to clean them 3 times. Do the first two times with a cheaper tire cleaner then use the black label cleaner for the last time. It's a nice cleaner but you only get 8 ounces of it which is not much.

I'm about to get the mckees cleaner in a concentrate. The black label seems a tad nicer but the Mckees is a great, great, cleaner too.

For what it's worth, when machine scrubbing tires, do this before you wash the car. Then if you get any tire cleaner sling or splatter on nearby panels, the splatter will wash off when you wash the car.
