Re: Why I call the FLEX 3401 the BEAST! by Mike Phillips

Not that I can afford one now, but will the 3402 get discontinued?

How will it get repairs done, if it gets replaced?

I’m assuming the replacement will use same parts?

As soon as I can...will get a 2nd beast. Just never know what future holds.

One of the tool can be for parts if things really gets tight. But these things lasts for years anyway....I'll prolly at a nursing home before my first Flex fails! Lol...

For anyone that finds and reads this article into the future....

The original FLEX XC 3401 VRG is going to be discontinued. At the date I'm writing this, Tuesday, December 29th, 2020 - I've been told within the next 2 years.

So if you want one of the originals - better get one while the getting is good.

If you opt for its replacement, my favorite polisher, the Supa BEAST, then get the larger backing plate and switch over as soon as you unbox it.

    Supa BEAST backing plate swap

Might as well take full advantage of all the available power with a larger footprint and get in and get the job done.

For you and everyone thinking about getting the original BEAST - aka the FLEX XC 3401 VRG - better do it sooner than later.

FLEX is already discontinuing these tools in other countries. They are still being built but they are no longer shipping to other countries as they are phasing this tool out for the new Supa BEAST and CBEAST versions.

    ALSO

If you have a BEAST or if you are going to buy a BEAST then you better stock up a few extra backing plates for this tool.

The backing plate for the BEAST is UNIQUE. There are NO other backing plates like it. Once they are gone - your tool becomes useless.

And keep this in mind - backing plates are WEAR ITEMS - it's only NATURAL that with use and TIME - they wear out.

I seen someone do something like that.

Or maybe some company can reproduce them? If the demand was high enough, im sure LC would make them. Doubtful of the demand, with so many liking long throw machines. But I don't know.
