Updating the CBEAST Backing Plate Screws

Updating the CBEAST Backing Plate Screws

I’m not a fan of Torx Head Screws. Too sensitive to stripping without perfect Torx Head Screwdrivers.

I’m happy to announce that FLEX is switching over to Socket Head Cap Screws (Allen Bolts).

My prototype CBEAST came with Torx Head Screws. Made a trip to our local Fastenal Store and updated my CBEAST with Socket Head Cap Screws.

    Original factory Torx Head Screws

Socket Head Cap Screws <-- I prefer these

    Also...

FLEX engineers have designed a new improvement to the original backing plate for the Finisher and the soon-to-be-available CBEAST.

New design replacements will be available soon for anyone with the old style that would like to updated. Here’s what the new backing plates look like.

Mike when you say “Finisher” do you mean a new backing plate design for the corded version or just the cordless or both? I love my corded Finisher. Also is there a charge for this update? Thanks!

Are you using torque wrench as well, or just "hand" tightening?

I could use some torque numbers for the Flex machines - I like tightening to "spec."

Torx heads are not bad if they are quality fasteners.

The ones FLEX used look horribly cheap. For what that unit costs, there is just no excuse not to have the best of everything.

Good call by FLEX to change those out.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

I believe it's both. When I get to unpacking the pallet of tools coming back from the Auburn, Indian Roadshow Class I will take apart my two tools and take pictures.

The cordless FLEX Finish is ALWAYS one of the most popular tools people like to test out and use at my car and boat detailing classes. And I'm pretty confident this leads to a LOT of sales.

    Thanks!

I think it's being sold as a new product but I'll find out.
