Mike, the argument is also true of the pads, perhaps not with the same weighting, but the pad is also an abrasive technology which is in contact with the paint and has bearing on the finish.

I’ve tested poor quality pads from far and wide and get results similar to the ones you display above using high quality abrasives from Menzerna, Scholl & 3D.

One could argue that abrasive technology is liquid and pad alike.
