Video: Lake Country Buffing Pads Explained with David Patterson & Mike Phillips

Foam is a science and a lot more complicated than most people know. Watch the video below as David Patterson from Lake Country explains the science behind Lake Country pad technology and design.

I can't help but notice there weren't any green pads in that video, LOL

(I presume you posted this because of that other thread going on--great video, BTW)

We shot this the day before our Roadshow Class there last summer. Might just be a fluke...

For anyone that has ever wondered what a Roadshow Class looks like, it took me some time but I think I captured it with pictures here,

Nope.... has nothing to do with this thread,

New LC Flat Pads - Change in Cutting / Finishing Order?

This is simply the time this video and a half dozen others we shot have been through the editing process and are now being launched.

I'll post one new video a day until they are all on the forum.

LOL, that's really funny--you did a great job, it never even occurred to me you might have had a lot of takes to get it, my only thought was "wow, that's a weird city name".

Thank you for this video Mike and David!

Do you think Lake Country could come up with an agressivement chart for all their pads (like the one for polishes and compounds)? I am sure we all have a general idea of differences in cut between categories of pads, but it would be nice if it was tested and numbers were
shown for it. I think Meguiar's tried to do that a few years back, I remember some of their pads had numbers like 3000 and 4000 on them. I assume it was a cuting rating similar to what is used for sandpapers.

This is the aggression chart for the revised CCS and Flat DA pad line, which includes both cut and finish properties of each respective pad.

Re: Video: Lake Country Buffing Pads Explained with David Patterson

Thank you for posting that chart. Unfortunatelly I do not use CCS pads ;( Right now I have ThinPro pads and HDO pads, both of which I use on my Rupes Bigfoot 21 mark 1.

Would be nice to have a comprehensive chart like the one you posted that covers all the pad types including microfiber and wool. I am guessing that a ThinPro pad cuts more than a CCS pad for instance.

Also, I don't see the red pad on the chart, I am assuming a cut of 1 or 0 and finish of 10?
