Could you please recommend a sealant that last 1 year?
Anytime I get questions via e-mail, a PM or a FB message I prefer to invest my typing time where
A: It's easier for me to share links, pictures and videos.
B: More people can read and thus benefit from the information. (no just one set of eyeballs
So I get an e-mail asking,
Good afternoon Mike,
Could you please recommend a sealant that last 1 year?
Thanks
Here's my reply...
Hi Matt,
How long anything lasts depends upon
HOW YOU TOUCH IT
And by how you touch it I mean, how you wash the car.
If you wash a car with a brick no wax or sealant is going to last very long.
If you wash a car with a clean, soft wash mitt and you DON’T scrub the paint then a wax or sealant may last up to 6 months.
It all comes down to how you wash the paint.
I’d go with SONAX Polymer Net Shield.
Sonax Polymer Net Shield, sonax polymer netshield, sonax profiline polymer netshield
In order for the SONAX Polymer Net Shield to form a proper bond to the paint you’ll want to,
1: Wash and dry car
2: Clay paint to remove any contaminants
3: Machine polish to perfect the paint.
4: Apply the SONAX Polymer Net Shield
Then wash carefully like I show here,

Hope that helps, here’s your question on the forum

Speaking of sealants, if I use an AIO, like Menzerna 3 in 1, what could I top it with? I guess a sealant isn't the best choice because the AIO leaves some sort of wax that will prevent the sealant from bonding properly? Is wax the only option to use on top of an AIO?
Thanks

In my experience and in my opinion you can top any cleaner/wax or AIO with either a wax or a sealant.
Bonding is the least of my worries and I've never seen a fresh coat of wax or sealant slip off the paint and pile up around the car on the garage floor after application due to an improper bond.

Dr. Beasley's PlasmaCoat Easy to use, free from harsh chemicals, instant bonding, and an intensely beautiful gloss. Try this!

I agree with Mike, Sonax Polymer Net Shield
Easy and quick to apply. Excellent longevity. You should be able to seal an average car in 30 minutes or less. I would also suggest investing in their shampoo, it really adds to the gloss and longevity of PNS. Don't let the size of the bottle fool you, it's highly concentrated and you only need about an ounce. It works out to about .50 cents per wash.
SONAX Gloss Shampoo Concentrate, concentrated auto shampoo, car shampoo, car wash, Sonax auto wash
I had applied PNS to my wifes car a few months ago and found a sample of the shampoo a couple weekends ago and tried it out. It restored the beading as you can see in the photo and left a nice slick shine behind. It won me over for maintaining PNS. Our dd's don't get babied, this had not been washed since first application of PNS and no maintencance sprays etc, real world test.

My wife's car had PNS applied last November. I have yet to see the beading fade. I'll be doing my spring polishing soon so it will be polished off before it ever dies.
In my day we didn't have the Internet, iPods,iPads, or smart phones....but we had some really bad-azz cars.

Have you tried their shampoo, I was blown away and I'm not easily impressed. The PNS bounced right back. I'll be using it as my maintenance wash for PNS from now on.
