Re: Help out a Newb - driveway spots caused by tire / wheel cleaning products

The OP will still have a problem staining using the wheel cleaner.

For the dressing, you can use spray just fine. Just spray it onto a foam applicator. I use Megs Hyper Dressing this way. Poorboy's World Bold N Bright is another one I use.

On the set of Competition Ready, we laid out cardboard under the tires prior to cleaning them using the nice Sonax product. The cardboard works.

In the past, while doing rinseless washes, I've used a bunch of cheap/cruddy MF towels and laid them tight around the tires. I would prefer cardboard, though

Re: Help out a Newb - driveway spots caused by tire / wheel cleaning products

I detail my car in my garage, so don't want staining. I find wetting the floor around the car helps keep the stain from "setting" and you can hose it away later. My ONR wash first step takes care of wetting the floor. If it starts to dry, I just spray it some more.
