Polishing Wheels with Rupes Big Foot Nano iBrid

    Pre-Prep

    Let dry 24 hours
Leave masking tape and film on the tire (leaves a bit of glue residue on tire, but easier to clean than splatter)
Wet sand with 1200-1500 where necessary to smooth out rough texture in some spots
(the silver paint is very dusty when applying with spray can and since is single stage can be sanded prior to applying Clear)

    Freshly Painted

    Method
    Compound Stage
Used 1" Blue Pad and the Blue ZEPHIR coarse polishing compound
    Rotary tool with guard on
4 small smudges of product on un-primed Blue Pad
Spread compound over one spoke area (5 total) at a time-the flat sections first
    Speed 1
Keep tool as flat as possible and 4-5 section passes-divided the spoke area into 3 sections
Slow passes light pressure as pad is open cell and collapses very easy
Turn off polisher when done a section and re-apply 4 smudges-had to move the angles quite a bit due to irregular shapes
Wipe off residue and clean pad on micro fiber towel after each section
At this point the wheel looks very good with good shine and depth and really finished LSP ready
Gave a final wipe down with IPA 10% Solution and checked with FLEX swirl light
    Polishing Stage
Used the 1" Yellow Pad and Yellow KERAMIK Finish Polish
    Rotary tool with guard on
4 small smudges of product on un-primed Yellow Pad
Spread polish over one spoke area (5 total) at a time-the flat sections first
    Speed 2
Keep tool as flat as possible and 4-5 section passes-divided the spoke area into 3 sections
Slow passes light pressure as pad is open cell and collapses very easy
Turn off polisher when done a section and re-apply 4 smudges-had to move the angles quite a bit due to irregular shapes
Gave center cap a light polish only as raised printing too vulnerable for the blue compound/pad combo
Wipe off residue and clean pad on micro fiber towel after each section
Gave a final wipe down with IPA 10% Solution
At this point the wheel looks fantastic very good shine and depth and LSP ready

    All Polished and LSP ready

    Conclusions
Rotary Tool and one inch pads are very powerful and will not stop during polishing
The guard must be on for this intricate work-many rounded edges and curves
When doing the outside lip/bead area do after polish has been used up a little-cuts down on splatter
Blue Compound slings more than Yellow Polish
Blue Pads get chewed up if too much pressure applied especially to the edges in tight spots
Pads need to be cleaned on Micro Fiber Towel after each section pass-they are small and get dirty quickly
No need for high speeds 1-2 max.
On this paint (single stage Silver with 3 coats of Clear) it really does a nice job of making it pop and super smooth
If had not sanded could have probably just done Blue/Blue combo and LSP ready
Did not apply LSP as paint needs 7 days to cure

The polisher is perfect for this kind of polishing.
Easy to maneuver in the tight spots and powerful enough to get the rounded parts.
No cord makes it really nice.
Took quite a bit of time (about 40 minutes) but still learning.
